Patrick Staples Pritchard
believed Chindit

Rhian Bevan writes:

Hi I wonder if anyone can help....My grandfather Patrick Staples Pritchard (DOB 17/3/27) of Knighton Powys served in Burma in 1945. Grandad was a part of the mule train and we know he drove large trucks as part of his role at this time.

I am trying to discover which regiment grandad was part of with a view to locating his service number and record.

His widow my grandmother is in poor health following a stroke and unable to provide us with any information. We are hoping to be able to get a place in a Royal British Legion home for her but have to find grandad's details to do this.

We have 2 photographs of him with old comrades, the first has "On leave in Ragoon" (? Rangoon) on the reverse....the second is of him with his colleages with a large lorry called "Jean". I would be greateful for any help and would be willing to email copies of the photographs at a later date if required. Many thanks Rhian on rkbevan@f2s.com
