Daughter Maureen writes:

"Can you help I am trying to contact anyone who served with my late father. SIDNEY JOHN PORCH 5677375.

My dad did not speak of the war years. I know he joined on 2.4.1940 and was released from the Worcester regiment on 2.3.1946 and was awarded the 1939-45 star and the Burma star. After the war he married and settled in Birmingham  He was welsh and may have been known as Taf or Taffy.  I do know that he mentioned fighting with the gurkas"
