K-7513 DOUGLAS MAR
FORCE 136

My father’s sister gave me an article from the Vancouver Sun; page B3, Feb. 14th, 2005. The article was titled 59 YEARS AGO TODAY  and in it mentions my Dad’s name, Douglas Mar of Port Alberni.  My Dad hardly mentioned his involvement during the War and I was proud to see his name mentioned.  If you have access to my Dad’s service and his contributions my family would be interested in your services.  As the article mentions that they were under orders not to talk about their military activities.

We knew he served as a commando and was a trooper.  That he was in Australia and the Islands. We are proud of his service but the details were always vague. My Dad’s service number was K-7513. He had enlisted on Sept. 19, 1944 and was discharged April 4, 1946.  Since he lied about his name to enlist since he was underage it was noted as Mar not Mah.  I would like to know more.
