WILLIAM ALBERT MACHIN
KING'S OWN ROYAL REGIMENT/CHINDITS
No: 14319712

I have an elderly neighbour whose brother was a Chindit. His name was William Albert Machine, no 14319712 First Kings Own Royal Regiment. His home was Camberwell, London and he served in Burma under Wingate. My neighbour tells me that, as a youngster, she and the rest of her family attended a short film showing at the Grosvenor Hotel. The film was of the Chindits. My neighbour also remembers a citation that belonged to her brother, a large document with his name on and two flags crossed at the bottom. I would be extremely grateful for any information anyone can give to enlighten us further about Mr Machin's time in Burma and whether we can obtain a copy of the film or citation. Very many thanks Lynne Wilmot on LynneWilmot_scc@hotmail.com
