Son Simon writes:-

I’m searching for anyone who knew my Father Alf (Chum) Lazenby as it is his 90th Birthday in January 2006 and I would like to be able to put him in contact with any old comrades.  My Father came from Bedford and was in the Fire Service so was not called up until 1944.

He left the UK on 1st January 1945 bound for Burma and I am at present writing up the diary that he kept of that journey until he arrived in India. He eventually returned to the UK in 1946 with the 1st Battalion cadre as a Sergeant to form a new Battalion but applied for a discharge to rejoin the Fire Service where he stayed until 1981 amassing a total of 44 years service. I would like to be able to put him in contact with some old comrades for his birthday next year.

Many thanks for your assistance,

Regards,

Simon Lazenby  on Simon@allura.com.au
