Information from George's Certificate of Service and Release shows us that George Ogilvy Lauder served with the Royal Air Force Voluntary Reserve from the 17th June 1941 to the 23rd May 1946.  He had the service number 1348036 and held the rank of Leading Aircraftsman - Gunner.  He belonged to 2706 Squadron and HQ Hong Kong RAF Regiment.

The Service Record further states " This airman has an excellent service record. He is very intelligent and has a bent for things mechanical. He should do well in engineering or some allied trade. Honest and trustworthy I cannot recommend him too highly."
