THOMAS HORRY
19th Air Formation Signals

Tom's daughter writes "

Hello, my father Tom Horry was in Burma during the war around the time Gracie Fields went out to entertain the troops in Oct 1945. He was her driver for a while. Although talking to Burma Star at Duxford, said Gracie had not been out to Burma. I used to be dragged to Burma Star reunions at The Golden Lion at Boston, Lincs and Frockenholt and even the Albert Hall. If you have any memories you'd like to share please post a message or contact me by e-mail.rick@honda98.freeserve.co.uk "

Update:

I recently posted a message giving the information that I knew about my dad's time in Burma. However, I have just found some more information which might be of more help.  This is he was in 5th A.A group, 19th air formation signals.

I am his daughter and trying to find anyone who knew him.  His diary shows he was in Burma in January 1945 but I don't know when he arrived there but I know he came home on the S.S Orduna on 14th June 1946 from Rangoon to Liverpool.

If you can help me at all please get in contact. Unfortunately my dad passed away on the 20th October 1984 after battling lung cancer.
