DENNIS GORDON
H.M.S. ROTHERHAM

Daughter Patricia's tribute to her father:

This is Dennis story

Dennis Gordon a little welsh man with a big heart and spirit joined the Royal Navy at the age of 16 -and served on the HMS Rotherham I know this was a bit young but I think that he wasn't quite truthful about his age.  I didn't pay attention to many times when he used to reminisce about his naval days, and it was only last year that he decided to try and find out if there was anybody alive that he served his time with.

Unfortunately Dennis passed away on the 25th July 2002. He paid a visit to the museum only earlier this year finding he was too early for the reunion.  So may I say on behalf of Dennis a thank you to all the friends that he has spoken of.  Dennis went on to marry Winnie and had four children and 13 grand children.  He had another major battle in his life and that was looking after my Mother during her fight against cancer which she sadly lost six years ago. Dennis will be sadly greatly missed by all that crossed paths with him.
