MARGARET LOSEBY
Margaret was born into a large family on the 22nd June 1923, the daughter of Joseph and Frances Ellen Smith. In her youth, she attended St. Christopher’s Church on the Saffron Estate and it is there where she began her future lifelong partnership with Ev – someone she made clear right to the end, just how much she loved.
A wartime bride, Margaret was married on the 13th May 1944 at St. Andrew’s Church in Jarrom Street, Leicester and whilst working in munitions and then for the Leicester Co-op, she prepared the family home while Ev was in Burma.
She always said that some of the best years of her life were when son Paul was born. She also made it clear how much she valued Paul’s wife Penny and felt that she had her own daughter in her. She later doted on Grandsons Richard and David and then her proudest moment was to see her Great Granddaughter Ellie, daughter of David and Ness. She considered herself to be the luckiest person in that she had almost two years of watching Ellie grow.
Margaret joins her Mum and Dad, sisters Kath, Lily, Frances and Elsie; brothers Ted, Joe, Frank, Leonard and Albert. Also there, are Laddie, Gail, Anna, Anna, and Sally. You can take them for that walk now…….
