10th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers Geoff Pycroft writes: Hi Everyone, I am a former member of the Lancashire Fusiliers and the 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment. I am the Archivist and Data Collator for the Lancashire Fusiliers (LF's) Web Site. I am currently conducting a series of interviews with William(Bill)Dalton former L/Cpl of the 10th Battalion The Lancashire Fusiliers who formed part of the 123rd Indian Infantry Brigrade of the 14th Indian Infantry Division. "Bill" was involved in the First Arakan Campaign and received near fatal wounds during the advance towards Akyab. He believes himself to be the last surviving member of the 10th Battalion but quite naturally would like to know of any other former LF's from the 10th are currently alive. Bill we shortly be featured on the LF Web Site. ANY information that ANYONE feels would be of interest to myself in trying to place on permanent record the acheivements of this truly heroic Lancastrian would be most gratefully received. Again ANY information about Bill's former Army friends would be a delight for Bill. Bill has given me a long long list of names and well over 50 photographs taken during his time in India and Burma. Please contact me should you want further information Thank you all Geoff Pycroft Gpycroft@aol.com 4th March, 2005 |
