History of the Burma Star Association

SGT JACK LESLIE CRATHORNE
ROYAL SIGNALS REGIMENT

My grandfather, Sgt Jack Leslie Crathorne (spelt incorrectly as Craythorne on one of the few army documents we have) No: 4921222, Royal Signals, served in India and Burma for 3.5 yrs between 1942 and 1945. Our family know very little about his service in the Far East, as he very rarely spoke about it.
He left the UK in Dec 1941, or early 1942, as a Signaller and achieved the rank of Sgt sometime in 1943. He was transferred to the Army Reserve in June 1946.

Our family would be grateful for any information, even just dates, locations he was at, or units he served with, so that I can research it.

Please contact me at gregandrachel@tiscali.co.uk and/or gregandrachelh@alncom.net
