History of the Burma Star Association

W/Cdr G J H Chrystall
Royal New Zealand Airforce
27 Squadron  -  s.o.e.

Son John writes:

Wing Commander G. J. H. Chrystall; born Dunedin, New Zealand 4 May 1918; joined RAF 1937; transferred RNZAF Jan 1944. My father served with 27 Squadron in India; then in Burma where he organised the dropping of agents and supplies behind the Japanese lines. At some time he became great friends with Freddy Spencer-Chapman. He also was an SOE anget, I believe in Yugoslavia, and was in Caserta, Italy, at the end of the war. After the war he became a sucessful farmer in Kenya. As he was very cagey about his role in SOE and elsewhere is there anyone who can tell me more of his war exploits. He died in 1982.

John can be contacted on john.chrystall@gmail.com
