Message:
I`m looking for anyone who may have served with my dad, or know anything about his unit. He was Arthur Carter, a Geordie, born Gateshead 1923, sadly died in December 1995. All I know from his service history is below. Can anyone help me find out where he would have got too. He did tell us he was in Burma, but didn`t go into details, I have since he died found some snaps relating to The Irrawaddy, Ada Bridge, and a flight of steps at Mandalay, Details of his service. 30.11.42 Transferred to the Royal Artillery and posted to 171 Field Regiment 21.12.42 Interposted to R Battery 171 Field Regiment 10.01.43 Posted to 195 Field Regiment 22.01.43 Posted to Depot 27.04.43 Posted to 1 Holding Battalion 27.05.43 Posted to 16 Field Regiment 19.04.46 Posted to Depot Any help would be appreciated.
