History of the Burma Star Association

CPl Ernest Alfred Bowden
Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry
Royal Corps of Signals
Royal Military Police (then a Sgt)

I am hoping you may be able to help me please. I am trying to find anyone who knew my father during his time in Burma from 1943 to 1946. I believe I have a Burmese half sister and am trying to trace her.  I know is she bears the name of Bowden.

He enlisted into the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry

My fathers ranks and number is as follows

5443771 Corporal Ernest Alfred Bowden    Royal Corps Signals
5443771 Sergeant Ernest Alfred Bowden    Corp of Military Police

I have been trying to find out anything at all to do with my father and half sister. I do have his records from the war but they do not tell you very much just the places he went to do his training and when he was sent overseas firstly to India then onto Burma. I actually have a warrant card issued to my father in his line of duty as an MP. this shows he was at C? Sub Area 166L it is signed by (and it looks like) W.W. Davenport Captain on 22nd July 1944. We lived in Torquay then Paignton Devon but I can't find anyone and have been searching since 1996 when my mother passed away.  Dad passed away 31st October 1961 from a heart attack.

I would really appreciate any help on finding out about my father's history and to trace my half sister
