The Burma Star Memorial Fund

This Fund, Registered Charity No: 1109753, was set up to ensure that those who participated in the Burma Campaign of 1941-1945 would never be forgotten.

In pursuance of the Fund’s objectives, the Trustees have established a Burma Star Grove at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas in Staffordshire, which is dedicated to all those who took part in the Burma Campaign of 1941-1945. The Memorial Obelisk is based on the Kohima 2nd Division Memorial in India.

The four Trustees of the fund are also Trustees of the Burma Star Association, thereby ensuring close ties between the two charities.

The Trustees are in the process of organising the raising of the necessary funds that will be required to carry out the educational objectives of the Fund. As this will be a very significant amount, they would be most grateful for any donations or bequests for this purpose.

At this time the relief of need of the veterans of the Burma Campaign or their spouses is adequately covered by the Burma Star Association but as and when this is no longer the case, the Memorial fund would take over this responsibility.
