69 Staging Post
R.A.F Station Mergui

Harold (Harry) Hesp

Photograph aken at Mergui

Hello to anyone who served in the R.A.F. in Burma and may remember my father Harold (Harry) Hesp, who was in Burma from 1945 to 1947. He would particularly like to find old comrades who served with him at 69 Staging Post, R.A.F Station Mergui from early 1946 until 1947.

He was a medic, but everyone knew him as 'Doc'

Mergui - May 1946

He has asked me to mention his Commanding Officer Alan Wood, and remembers that he was the last Commanding Officer to leave Mergui. One of my fathers dearest possessions is a letter from him. He mentions a Sgt. Chatterton and a Flt. Lt. Thompson. He has told me numerous stories of his time there and has many precious photographs, all of which I have access to.

If anyone does remember my father please contact me on my email address. I would love to able to tell him that someone has made contact. He is now 82 and we live in East Yorkshire.

Many thanks and best wishes to any of the brave gentleman who served
with him and may be reading my email.

Ann Wilkinson.
